Professional Short Courses on Climate Change, titled: Grid Integration of Renewable Energy by the Australian National University

 

 

The Secretariat of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) circulated the final concept note of the Grid Integration of Renewable Energy in the Indian Ocean Region and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Professional Courses 2023-2025 and invited the esteemed Member States to the first course under the Professional Short Courses on Climate Change, titled: Grid Integration of Renewable Energy, which will be delivered by the Australian National University.

The course will be run over the following dates:

  • Pre-course seminar (11 July 2023, 5.45pm-9.30pm AEST)
  • Main Course (17-20 July 2023, 5.45pm-10.00 pm AEST each day)
  • Post-Course Seminar (23 August 2023, 5.45pm-9.45pm AEST)

Member States are invited to kindly nominate two applicants to apply for the upcoming virtual Grid Integration of Renewable Energy professional short course, commencing 11 July 2023. Kindly note that only 30 seats are available. National Focal Points must provide written endorsement to their nominees and each applicant will need to provide a letter of support from their employer.

Applicants are required to be of professional mid-senior level position in policy, practice, research or reform government, with at least 3-5 years of working experience at this level and a reasonable good understanding of the subject matter. Applicants must also have a good command of English (writing and speaking).

The course aims to deepen understanding of energy transition towards a zero-carbon energy future (including energy technologies, economics, policies and societal transitions) in context of the Indian Ocean region.

Please note that only participants who meet the minimum requirements of the course will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
